چکیده
We consider a generalization of the abelian Higgs model with a ChernSimons term by modifying two terms of the usual Lagrangian. We multiply a dielectric function with the Maxwell kinetic energy term and incorporate nonminimal interaction by considering generalized covariant derivative. We show that for a particular choice of the dielectric function this model admits both topological as well as nontopological charged vortices satisfying Bogomol’nyi bound for which the magnetic flux, charge and angular momentum are not quantized. However the energy for the topolgical vortices is quantized and in each sector these topological vortex solutions are infinitely degenerate. In the nonrelativistic limit, this model admits static self-dual soliton solutions with nonzero finite energy configuration. For the whole class of dielectric function for which the nontopological vortices exists in the relativistic theory, the charge density satisfies the same Liouville equation in the nonrelativistic limit. Self-dual vortices in the generalized Abelian Higgs model with independent Chern-Simons interaction.
Self-dual vortex solutions are studied in detail in the generalized abelian Higgs model with independent Chern-Simons interaction. For special choices of couplings, it reduces to a Maxwell-Higgs model with two scalar fields, a Chern-Simons-Higgs model with two scalar fields, or other new models. We investigate the properties of the static solutions and perform detailed numerical analyses. For t...
متن کاملBogomol'nyi equations for solitons in Maxwell-Chern-Simons gauge theories with the magnetic moment interaction term.
Without assuming rotational invariance, we derive Bogomol'nyi equations for the solitons in the abelian Chern-Simons gauge theories with the anomalous magnetic moment interaction. We also evaluate the number of zero modes around a static soliton configuration.
متن کاملElectrically and magnetically charged vortices in the Chern–Simons–Higgs theory
In this paper, we prove the existence of finite-energy electrically and magnetically charged vortex solutions in the full Chern–Simons–Higgs theory, for which both the Maxwell term and the Chern–Simons term are present in the Lagrangian density. We consider both Abelian and non-Abelian cases. The solutions are smooth and satisfy natural boundary conditions. Existence is established via a constr...
متن کاملVortices in (abelian) Chern-Simons gauge theory
The vortex solutions of various classical planar field theories with (abelian) Chern-Simons term are reviewed. Relativistic vortices, put forward by Paul and Khare, arise when the Abelian Higgs model is augmented with the Chern-Simons term. Adding a suitable sixth-order potential and turning off the Maxwell term provides us with pure Chern-Simons theory with both topological and non-topological...
متن کاملDuality, Quantum Vortices and Anyons in Maxwell-Chern-Simons-Higgs Theories
The order-disorder duality structure is exploited in order to obtain a quantum description of anyons and vortices in: a) the Maxwell theory; b) the Abelian Higgs Model; c) the Maxwell-Chern-Simons theory; d) the Maxwell-Chern-Simons-Higgs theory. A careful construction of a charge bearing order operator(σ) and a magnetic flux bearing disorder operator (vortex operator) (μ) is performed, paying ...
